The Importance of Jumaah, Rawatib & Congregational Prayers

Cocombeeflix

Maintaining the five daily prayers is an obligation for every Muslim. It is even more virtuous when accompanied by sunnah prayers. Among the five daily prayers, one holds a special obligation for men - that is performing it in congregation: the Friday (Jumu'ah) prayer. The virtues of attending the Jumu'ah prayer in congregation are immense. It not only strengthens bonds of brotherhood but also brings multiplied rewards, replaces the Dzhuhr prayer, and becomes a means of forgiveness and mercy from Allah.

However, if a man deliberately abandons congregational prayer three times in a row without a valid excuse, it is considered a sign of hypocrisy. If he does not repent, it may even lead to him leaving the fold of Islam.
